Several years ago, eco-friendly fashions we hard to find and not very impressive. Today, they are fantastic and fashionable.
I’ve put together a list of my favorite finds for Earth Day 2010 and will explain why they are green.
2. Pick Your Letters Neck By Sima Gilady:
I love this concept: custom, reasonably priced, and recycled! Gilady works with recycled metals and limits her use of oxides, patinas, and other potentially harmful chemicals. Her collection has a variety of beautiful pieces. I adore this piece in particular as it mixes gold, silver, and sparkle. I chose to customize with each of my dogs names but the options are endless. These are fantastic gifts for mothers, grandmothers, or to celebrate a special occasion.

Great Press - My Heart Is For You, In A Biblical Way
By Bryce-Oct 2nd, 2009
Category- FASHION- Jewelry-Shoes and Accessories
{Again,THANK YOU so much Bryce for the beautiful press} "I’m a big fan of shopping on Etsy, especially for jewelry. There’s nothing better than handmade, unique jewelry. Forgive me, but jewelry is a personal thing, and wearing the same Tiffany bracelet as everyone else is basically the fast way to say “Hey I’m stuck in 1999 and I have no sense of style.” So, thank you, Sima Gilady. Your personalized jewelry rocks my world, and it’s almost all under $100. My personal favorite is this “My Heart is for You” necklace made of sterling silver and is somehow only $29! Holy crap, best small gift ever. Write someone’s name in Hebrew… how fun!? It’s like “Hey, I love you, and I want to write your name in a language I don’t speak.” Best friend’s birthday? Personalize a heart! Sister-in-law just got engaged? Give her a heart with her sweetie’s name! Just had a baby? Get one with your bubbeleh’s name! http://www.theluxuryspot.com/2009/10/02/my-heart-is-for-you-in-a-biblica...
Bryce is a Manhattanite mom that can be found jet-setting off to every corner of the globe. She loves exotic places, trying adventurous cuisines, artisan fashions, and apothecary-type beauty products.

Do It All Mamas (& Papas)
December 17
Early Childhood Parenting Examiner
By Angele Sionna
Sima and her family In today's Do It All Mamas (& Papas) the spotlight is on Sima Gilady, mommy to Leah (17), Maya (14), Yonatan (5) and Eden (3) and the designer of SimaG Jewelry. I have two of Sima's necklaces and they are beautiful. Among my very favorites to wear.
Examiner: Tell me something unique/interesting about yourself.
Sima: I born and raised in Israel .I got married and moved to Boulder ,Colorado, then I started my career as esthetician, had 2 girls and had to close my shop due to hard time with my third pregnancy. I wanted to be home with my kids and be there when they come home from school. Art & Jewelry has been my passion in my life, since I was a child, I considered myself an artist. so staying home has been a blessing in many ways.I love my life, my kids and my husband who always supports my work and my dreams. I LOVE my job, and I believe it shows. I create my beautiful jewelry at my home while my 4 kids at school. After 3pm, I am my kids mother and my husband wife.
Examiner: What is your business all about?
Sima: SPREADING YOUR LOVE ♥ ONE LETTER AT A TIME ♥ Personalized Jewelry In Hebrew & English. Some people wear their hearts on their sleeves. I prefer to wear mine around my neck.
Examiner: What is your favorite product that you make or sell and why do you like or recommend it?
Sima: My very favorite product is my spiral shape necklace. Two years ago I create the first spiral design on Etsy. I stamped my family around the disc as a spiral, snail shape.Since I was a kids i always drew snails, took photos of shells and any thing that looks like a spiral is mine. I have to buy that. The spiral shape to me is: Journey... Balance Progress Direction Initiation Centering Expanding Awareness Connection Journeying Development. Family."The Human Mind Always Makes Progress,But It Is A Progress In Spirals."~Madame De Stael
Examiner: Why did you start your business?
Sima: I wanted to find a great piece of jewelry to represent my family and found nothing that was "one of a kind." Then i bought my first stamp letters few years ago and created my family and friend a great keepsake. I love that every disc is unique in that you can personalize each tag, "every disc has a story".
Examiner: What secret do you have to share with other parents about "having it all" with your family and business?
Sima: Creating jewelry and running my jewelry shop, I try to keep my life in balance by exercising and walking everyday. I try to volunteer at my kids school, to have a date with my husband and my big girls 17 and 14. It is very important to me to spend some time with them, while the little boys with their daddy. My family and I love traveling and exploring the world, it is very important to us to take time from work and busy life.
Examiner: What is the number one piece of advice you have for other parents?
Sima: Enjoy your family, your spouse.your kids they grow too fast. Find the time to read to your kids,To hug them and say :"I love you" Keep your family priorities. To bake together.
Examiner: What is your (and your kids) favorite family activity? Sima: We live in in beautiful Colorado. We love the mountain, we hike in the summer. The girls water ski and we ski in the winter.
Examiner: Anything else you want to add?
Sima: I LOVE MY WORK! I truly see each custom personalized design as my opportunity to share in the life of that family through joyous occasions such as a birthday or holiday or wedding and through their sadness in my pieces of remembrance in sharing a family's loss. I create every piece with love, one letter at a time - it's the ultimate personal experience for me. This isn't just a job for me, it's a great passion and blessing, to be able to be a part of a family's story - even if just in that short moment of time. I never forget a family's special request for a custom order and every time I duplicate that certain piece, I'm taken back to the wonderful unique stories that my work allows me to share with my community.
{Thank You so much "Angele Sionna" for featuring me in your website}

Necklace Giveaway Simag
Written by: Miss Krista
I am a firm believer that when something is created out of love, it shows. There is an intangible beauty that lives in authenticity, a simple perfection that cannot be faked. Sima Gilady, of Sima G Jewelry, is a shining example of my theory at work. Gilady looks at each custom design as an opportunity to share in the life of the family she is creating for and translates this respect and honor into beautiful pieces destined to be handed down generation after generation. I have a hard time deciding which pieces I would want to add to my collection and find myself justifying the purchase of a small handful. The “My Three Wishes” necklace would be stamped with three reasons to be grateful every single day. The “Circle of Joy” necklace (featuring the very first stamped spiral design on Etsy) has me penning multiple options, begging the purchase of more than one. The simple and unique design of the “Sweet Heart” necklace is so beautiful I actually gasped out loud when I saw it. If that’s not a testament to beautiful design, I don’t know what is. Sima G Jewelry is a tangible reminder to enjoy the life we’re living. These unique and custom designs serve as gentle nudges toward the authentic in all of us. Sima Gilady loves what she does. It shows.
Miss Krista, our Weekend Editor, is a mother, a lover and a big believer in the power of a cupcake. She loves double entendres but is not a fan of the high-five.
